Are we born to die?

I thought so for a moment.. but that sounds overly riduculous. I doubt any God would be as senseless as to make that a mission for any beings. Does he have nothing else better to do than to create beings, and send them down to make a fool of themselves by watching them manuever towards death the moment they were born?

Probably some would say living was meant to be a punishment, others thought it to be a test towards enlightenment. And of cuz, there are countless other proposals. I'm not too sure, and I can't be bothered. I just wanted to make sense of why I was brought down to this earth. I guess everyone is entitled to their own reasons, hence I refuse to ask anyone for my existence, I'll have to figure out on my own. (Then again, I may ask to hear my parents' opinion one day. Who knows? They may just have a mandate for me.) But for now, I can't take it that I was simply born out of mere fun, for the purpose of dying at the end of the day. What a waste of my lifetime. And hence, I ponder. And I have a inkling sort of an idea...

"I was born to make this a world a better place."

Such that others for whatever reasons they have to come down to earth, wheather to be punished, have been banished, for self-actualization, or simply out of boredom... will have a happier place to serve their purpose. Living is not so hard, it's the environment that makes it trying. Since I don't have a religious purpose, I'll just make this living environment a much conducive place for those with living agendas. And perhaps when the day come when I'm suppose to take my leave, I can proudly say: I was not born to die. I merely fulfilled my purpose and was due for retirement.

Sounds like a good reason for my existence. And in the meantime, if there is a greater purpose, perhaps my creator can hint me towards the right direction.
